Comhar Partners has named Marc Detampel a Managing Director in its Chicago office. Marc will join Co-Founder and Managing Director, J. James O’Malley, in supporting the firm’s Professional Services Practice, as well as other industry segments.
Marc brings 25 years of consulting experience advising on human capital strategy, change management, leadership development, and organization design and development to his role as Managing Director for Comhar Partners. Marc will be focused on recruiting and talent management issues for clients in Professional Services and Telecommunications, Wireless, and Cable. As an expert in human capital and organizational issues, he will continue to service Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs), and his ideas have been featured on CNN, Business Finance Magazine, New Thinking, and World Press.

Prior to joining Comhar Partners, Marc held a number of leadership positions at professional services and management consulting firms. Most recently, he was a Managing Director with Alvarez and Marsal’s Corporate Performance Improvement Practice in Chicago. Before Alvarez and Marsal, Marc was the Practice Leader for HR Performance Improvement in the Midwest at EY. Marc was also a Partner in the Talent and Organization Performance solution at Accenture. At PwC, he was a Managing Director of their Talent Management and HR Effectiveness national solution.
Prior to PwC, Marc was the North American Practice Leader for Management Consulting and the Global Leader for Human Capital Solutions at BearingPoint. Marc was responsible for P/L within Management Consulting and ultimately accountable for client relations and quality of solutions. Marc helped transition the BearingPoint Management Consulting team and client base over to PwC.
Marc earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marquette University, and a master’s degree in human resource management and organization design from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management. He also has a certificate in leadership development from the Yale Institute for Executive Leadership.
